CIM is the integration of the total manufacturing enterprise through the use of integrated systems and data communication. It is the umbrella term under which CAD/CAM, Flexible Manufacturing (FMS) and Computer Aided Production Management (CAPM) find a place. Development in CIM result in real-time process simulation and Computer Numerically Controlled manufacturing. It involves both software and special purpose hardware. Implementation of CIM in any organization results in tangible and intangible benefits such as higher profits, increased productivity, reduced inventory, customer satisfaction, higher employee morale. The course is helpful to learn Optimization of various manufacturing process using Finite element Analysis, Design and optimization of various tooling used in manufacturing process.
